System follows the device; light/dark force it everywhere, etch included.
Overlay controls
Map-overlay buttons (transit layers, etch time controls): accent-tinted when active, or neutral gray.
Map layout
Overlay floats cards over a full-bleed map; split stacks map and pane flush. Sets the default — etch's own toggle still wins there once used.

Time
Clock rendering everywhere times appear.
Date
YYYY-MM-DD, or the device's local short format.
Temperature
Weather modules and forecasts.
Distance
Miles or kilometers — same setting as strava's units toggle.
Storage

By default everything lives in this browser only. To back up preferences and the app registry across devices, point mosaic at storage you own — a server on your tailnet, or your own Convex deployment. Credentials and tokens never leave this browser either way.

Nothing to configure. Data stays in this browser.
